What cookies are
Cookies are small text files stored on your device. Together with similar technologies (localStorage, sessionStorage) they make the app work and remember your login.
What cookies we use
DrinksUp currently uses strictly necessary cookies and local storage only — no advertising or third-party tracking cookies. Usage analytics are measured server-side and use no tracking cookies.

We also use your browser's local storage (not cookies) to save unfinished crawl drafts and cache the current game state on your device, so you don't lose progress. This data stays on your device.
Map tiles are served by Mapbox, which may use its own technical storage and sees your IP address to render the map; it operates under the Mapbox privacy policy.
When you pay for a crawl we redirect you to Stripe's secure payment gateway. Within its own environment Stripe sets its own necessary and security cookies (including for fraud prevention); these are governed by the Stripe cookie policy. These cookies apply only in connection with payment.
Do you need to consent?
Because we use strictly necessary cookies only (the Art. 5(3) ePrivacy exception), we do not require a consent banner. If we later add analytics or marketing cookies, we will show a consent banner where rejecting is as easy as accepting.
Managing cookies
You can block or delete cookies anytime in your browser settings. Without the login cookies you will not be able to sign in.
Changes
We will notify you of material changes (new cookie category, new processor).
